ANAHEIM, Calif. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has no new tears in the tendon sheath around his inflamed right wrist.
Teixeira got a cortisone shot Sunday. New York manager Joe Girardi said he will be re-evaluated next week.
“That’s a good thing,” Girardi said before the team’s 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels. “If he was to re-tear it, that would probably be it for the season. We’re looking at some inflammation, and we’re going to have to see how long it’s going to take to get back.”
